News:
Latinos, blacks underrepresented among physicians, study says Latinos, African-Americans and some Asian groups are greatly underrepresented among doctors in the county and statewide, according to a new report that said physician diversity improves access and quality of health care for minorities. Four New Allopathic Schools to Open

University of Central Florida College of Medicine
Florida International University College of Medicine
San Juan Bautista School of Medicine (Puerto Rico)
Texas Tech University at El Paso

AAMC has made the decision to open the AMCAS application on May 14 rather than earlier in order to ensure that they can perform an end-to-end integration test of all AMCAS Letters components prior to release. They anticipate the submission date, June 4th, to remain the same.

The Florida International University (FIU) has joined AMCAS Letters for the 2009 entering class.

AACOMAS Requesting Transcripts
From the main “Colleges and Coursework” screen, click on “View Transcript Received Status”, then click on “Transcript Request Form” to generate a form that you may send to colleges to request transcripts be sent to AACOMAS. A box will open for you to indicate identifying information. Complete the box and click Make Transcript Request. Then print or save the PDF, sign, date and mail to the registrar of the college to have a transcript sent directly to AACOMAS. AACOMAS will not accept transcripts that are sent by the student and a transcript from each institution that you have attended is required.

Success: 100% Acceptance for the Classes of 2004 and 2005! 2006: 89% accepted and 2 waitlisted.
